A touch panel controlling the whole emergency vehicle

Our R&D department is working on a touch panel that handles light and sound signaling, along with the vehicle's other systems, from one place. The first prototype has just come alive on the workbench.

Our development department is working on a new element of the Emertronic ecosystem — a touch control panel that handles light and sound signaling, along with the other systems of an emergency vehicle, from one place. The first prototype has just come alive on the workbench, and this is the moment worth showing it.

The whole vehicle on one screen

Classic control — a siren amplifier keypad and switches — is a proven, reliable solution that answers the needs of many builds perfectly and remains a permanent part of our range. The touch panel replaces none of it. It is a new option for those who want to go a step further and concentrate the control of signaling and the vehicle's other systems in one modern interface — the kind we know from the cabins of contemporary cars.

The home screen shows a visualization of the vehicle and the state of the active functions at a glance: light signaling, sound signaling, left and right directional lighting, front lighting, warning modes. The bottom bar leads to the further sections — work lighting, power, temperature, ventilation and settings. The operator sees the whole vehicle and its state in one place, and the screen layout guides them intuitively to every function.

Not merely a display — a complete control platform

The panel is the visible part of a larger whole. At its heart is a control board, designed in parallel, with high-current outputs that feed the vehicle's loads directly. In practice this means fewer relays, simpler wiring and full control over every circuit — with room to add further functions as a particular build requires.

Power screen — battery voltages and state of charge, charging current, external supply, alarms
The power section: battery state, charging current and external supply in a single view.

Native synchronisation with the Emertronic system

The most important feature is what sets this apart from the universal panels available on the market: full, native integration with our products. The panel works with amplifiers from the EMCORE ULTRA group and with the complete Emertronic system — the REMEDY TRI-LITE light bars, the XPULSE directional lamps, the PULSAR and INFRAME lamps, the REZON low-frequency system and the SPECTRON traffic advisors.

Flash patterns, synchronisation and operating modes all come from one source, so the whole signaling behaves as a single organism rather than a collection of independent devices. We are designing the platform with the future in mind — native support will also cover the products still to come: REMEDION and AXION LAMP.

Temperature screen — engine, oil, gearbox, coolant, parking heater, radiator fan

What this means for upfitters

We are designing this product with our partners in the special-vehicle upfitting trade in mind:

  • Shorter installation — in the panel variant the control runs over a single bus, which reduces wiring and the number of integration points.
  • Configurability — the layout of screens and functions matched to the particular build and service: police, fire, ambulance, road services.
  • Flexibility — a touch panel, a classic keypad with switches, or a hybrid arrangement, depending on what the end user requires.
  • One supplier, one responsibility — signaling, control and load supply from one coherent system, with one technical support.

Where the work stands

The prototype runs on the workbench — we are refining the interface, the control logic and the integration with the high-current board. The next stages are immunity and emission testing under UN Regulation No. 10 and trials in a real installation.
