REMEDION: a high-profile dual-row bar on a proven platform

A high-profile dual-row light bar built on the same technology platform as the REMEDY TRI-LITE light bars. The project is at the concept stage, but the first components — injection molds among them — have already entered production tooling.

Our development department is working on REMEDION — a high-profile dual-row light bar built on the same technology platform you know from the REMEDY TRI-LITE light bars. The project is at the concept stage, but settled enough that the first components — injection molds among them — have already entered production tooling. The design brief covers the requirements set out in Polish police specifications. Here is why this bar is being built and what it adds.

A proven platform in a new format

REMEDY TRI-LITE is a design we are simply satisfied with — and that is not a marketing formula but a conclusion drawn from how it performs on our customers' vehicles. Its optical platform, control electronics and mechanical solutions have proven themselves well enough to become the natural foundation for the next step. REMEDION is therefore not starting from zero: it is mature, field-proven technology carried over into a format we wanted to develop from the outset — the high-profile bar.

Why high-profile and dual-row?

The high-profile format answers the needs of the part of the market that deliberately opts for a pronounced signaling silhouette — a high bar is a fixed point in many specifications for emergency vehicles, police vehicles in particular. REMEDION will therefore add this format to our range: alongside low-profile bars, not instead of them — both approaches have their uses and their advocates.

Two rows of optical modules give a larger emitting surface and the ability to work with a bigger light footprint, which can translate into warning effectiveness. The taller profile also has a practical dimension: it creates room for extra functions without lengthening the bar and without cramming modules in at the expense of optics. In a device meant to combine warning, lighting and information functions, that spare room has real value.

Not only a signal — a message too

The most interesting of the new capabilities is support for programmable displays integrated inside the bar. REMEDION can carry variable messages to road users — text, arrows, instructions — becoming a tool of active communication rather than only a source of flashes. For the services this means a single roof installation delivering warning signaling and information at once, with unified control and without adding external boards. This is the direction the emergency-vehicle market is clearly heading — and the direction this design was conceived for from the first sketch.

Designed for police requirements

Specifications for police vehicles are among the most demanding in the emergency-vehicle segment — they cover the photometric parameters of the signaling, additional functions and service requirements. We took those requirements as the starting point of the project, not as a checklist to tick off at the end — they shape the design. Worth recalling here: a light bar is, in the wording of UN Regulation No. 65, an all-round device of category T — we write more about categories and classes alongside R65 categories and classes.

Where the project stands

The project is at the concept stage — we are refining configurations and functions — but the direction is settled enough that the first components have already entered production tooling: injection molds for individual parts among them. That is our natural order of work: components whose design decisions are final get tooled straight away, to shorten the path from design freeze to series production. Like all our products, REMEDION is built entirely in-house — from concept, through tooling, to assembly and quality control.
